Nurturing vs Giving - Demystifying this Aspect of the Feminine

I cannot tell you how many women that I work with believe that the feminine nature is to give.

So she plans the dates, cooks the meals, buys the gifts, offers advice, and the list goes on.

Then when they work with me and I take them through an exercise to help them clarify if they’re operating more from their masculine or their feminine energy, they all get stumped in the same place.

….”wait, you’re saying the masculine gives and the feminine receives? But you’re also saying that the feminine is nurturing, so what’s the difference?”

Oh, how I love this topic of masculine and feminine polarity so freaking much. It’s a powerful way of understanding the dance between men and women and how as women, we’ve been conditioned to show up in our masculine - pushing away the very kind of man and way of being supported we desire.

Yes, relationships are about both giving and receiving.

But when you take on the giving role in the relationship, you force your partner into the receiving one.

Yes, to giving.

No, to overgiving to the point of draining yourself.

So what’s the difference between giving and nurturing?

The way I best understand it is that giving is an action, and nurturing is a way of being - it’s a feeling that he (and others) gets when he’s around you.

It’s your care and attention - a reflection of the way you love and admire yourself and let the abundance of that runneth over.

I get how challenging this can be.

I’ve been working on this with a beautiful client of mine.

She wants things done right and she wants things done right, now. So she takes on the role of doing and giving in her relationship - the masculine energy.

And every time she resists this idea, I keep getting her to lean back into the feminine.

“Lean back, take the pressure off of yourself, and communicate how you’re feeling.”

This is the conversation I keep having with her.

And you know what? As soon as she started to trust this enough to listen, her partner stepped up.

Cooking dinners, planning romantic evenings, bringing up conversations she’s so been wanting to have.

It’s amazing to witness.

And she’s not the first.

Bringing a woman into her feminine, Queen energy who draws out the best in her King is one of my strongest skills as a love coach.

Do you want this, too?

School of Love - The Inner Circle has a group for women in relationships.

If you are ready to be a Queen who can consistently receive love the way you desire it, send in your application, and let’s see if this is for you.
