The Easiest Way to a Better Feeling Life

The Easiest Way to a Better Feeling Life

What if I told you, you have the power to create your most joyous life? The ability to erase your anxiety and replace it with excitement? Would you read this post any further, or click the x button at the top of your screen? It’s incredibly simple and yet few venture to try it. It all comes down to this:

Allowing yourself to think a better feeling thought.

Say what now? Before I get into the explanation of what this really means and how to do it, I first need your buy-in that feeling Good with a capital G is well, good for you.

Have you ever noticed that some people get what they want in life in a seemingly effortless way, while others get it with a lot of noticeable effort – and some never at all?

Of course you have.

And have you ever wondered what sets them apart from one another? Is it physical dominance? Luck? What it comes down to is their mindset, and more specifically, their thoughts.

We’ve been taught that when there’s something we don’t like in life, we can “do” something about it. And this is true. But what you’ll ultimately find is that if your mind ain’t right about it, it’s going to take a lot of exhausting effort to get what you want out of life, if you get “there” at all.

Our minds are incredibly powerful. Our thoughts are dynamic. They trigger emotions (energy in motion) and physical reactions in our bodies. Remember that time you blushed when someone embarrassed you in a crowded room? Or when you had a sexy thought and felt the excitement course through your body? Or that time someone flipped you the finger and your heart started pounding with anger? Ya, the mind is one powerful machine – and we have the ability to use it to our advantage, or our demise.

You see, our life is not as joyful as the circumstances in it, it’s as joyful as our thoughts about it. As Eckhart Tolle once said, “The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it”. Take some time to reflect on this and let the truthness (is this even a word?) of it really sink in.

On the flipside, our happiness/joy/excitement for life starts in our minds, with our thoughts. Our thoughts, which repeated enough times become our beliefs, shape our views on life, our expectations, the filter through which we see people and circumstances, the feelings felt in our bodies, the actions we take and don’t take, and ultimately the course of our “realities”.

Said in this way, the thought is the “cause” and the things you observe in life are the “effects”. If you want to change what you see on the outside, you need to reorganize what’s happening on the inside, in your mind.

And when you do so, you will see that your energy vibrates higher, and therefore you become a match to things (people, opportunities, money, travel, etc etc) of similar high vibes. You become brighter and magnetic. You’re a joy to be around and your energy is contagious. You benefit and the people around you do, too. This isn’t hocus pocus. Try this consistently enough and you’ll see how effortlessly this flows.

Keep in mind, life is not a straight path and your evolution isn’t linear, so don’t expect to feel good all the time. Do however, expect to feel good, much of the time.

So how exactly do we do this? Here’s a step by step process that I offer in The Conscious Love Blueprint.

  1. Acknowledge the feeling you’re having, and name it.
  2. Notice where you feel the anxiety in your body – in the pit of your stomach? your chest? Shoulders?
  3. Breathe through the tension and consciously try to relax.
  4. Write down what you were just thinking or saying that made you feel that way (if you can’t write it down, take a mental note).
  5. Soothe your way out of that thought. For example, you could say something to yourself such as, “there’s nothing for me to worry about until I have more information” or “everything will work out the way it’s supposed to” or “the best thing I can do for myself and this situation is to stay calm” or “this doesn’t deserve my attention” or “my intentions were in the right place”. Use your judgment and use words that are believable and comforting to you. This is your practice of learning how to self-soothe.
  6. Be compassionate with yourself. You’re learning and getting stronger with every day that passes.

This goes beyond simply thinking happy thoughts, which I know you’ve heard time and time again. This is about tuning into your body, and the way you feel, to gain access to the wisdom found in your subconscious thoughts so that you can guide your thoughts, and therefore your actions, and therefore your life, towards your highest vision.

As you do this regularly, you’ll find that it gets easier and more natural – and that you not only enjoy this process a whole lot more, but you enjoy life in a new way. Your suffering is in your mind. Conversely, your pure joy can be planted in the seed of your mind, and observed in the life that you sow.

Give yourself the gift of feeling better. Allow yourself to move toward thoughts that make you feel great, and watch your life follow suit. If you give this a try, I’d love to know how it fares for you! Until next time, I wish you the best of thoughts and the most joyous of life.

Peace & love,

Diana.
